Requirements for having Del Oro Pacific at your event . . .
The Del Oro Pacific Modular Railroad is available to display at your upcoming event. However there are some requirements and things to know to have us at your event. After reading the requirements below, please contact Joseph Jackson, President of Del Oro Pacific, to answer any questions you may have and to discuss having the club at your event.
- The Del Oro Pacific modules take up considerable space as we model G Gauge train equipment. Minimum space requirements are 30’ long by 24’ wide, but our preferred set up is 40’ by 40’. And we have sufficient modules to fill a rather large space of 70’ wide by 100’ long. In addition, enough space between modules and visitors must be considered.
- Set up of the railroad takes considerable time. Although the smallest layouts can be done in a few hours, larger displays may take up to two days to assemble.
- Following the event, consideration must be given to taking down the modules. This usually takes a shorter time frame.
- The modules are delivered in one to three trailers. Close access by truck and trailer to the assembly site is required, as well as reserved parking spaces for the trailers.
- Electrical supply: We prefer 110 v outlets with 20 amp breakers, when possible.
- Site must be secure. Almost always the modules are set up inside a building such as a convention hall, or sometimes large tents. Most events are over several days and night time security must be provided. If the modules are to be set up in a tent, weather protection must be considered.
- The Del Oro Pacific Modular club consists of volunteer club members that volunteer their time to set up, run and disassemble the modules. But there are costs associated with the display. An honorarium commensurate with the nature of the event is expected, but not mandatory.
